Improving Sales Effectiveness

RE: Improve Sales Effectiveness with Better Information
From: Jeff Alhadeff

You can improve your sales effectiveness by having better information on your prospective client.  This information is free, on Google, and most likely not being accessed by your competition because most people do not have not been trained in you to properly research when using Google.  For example, can you answer the following 3 questions in the affirmative?

1.  Do you know how to discover news within a specific territory or region? (A must when looking for sales leads or doing market research).

2. Do you know how to ensure your results are high quality by preselecting the site that they come from and keep your results current? (Cut down on time searching through wads of trash and get information that will establish your expertise on the subject-creating trust and leading to sales).

3. Do you know how to discover reviews of of a product or a company? (I can think of several products that I could have invested in their stock-- I knew that the review of their product was positive before the press release-- it was like knowing insider information)!

How much time would being able to have these skills save you?  How much more money could you make being able to answer these questions--every single time?  And this isn't even the tip of the iceberg.

Sure, there is a lot of information on how to use Google on the web right now that is free--(it is actually where I learned many of the basics), but no one is giving knowledge workers the tools to find spot on information and discover insights that come back with dollar bills attached the way I do.  My system for teaching has helped numerous Fortune 500 companies and taught hundreds of people to easily and effectively start finding information in ways they never knew possible, but don't take my word for it:

Thank you very much for the web event today, very useful information, made me want more!  I do quite a bit of live e-learning events with the company, so it’s always good to see how others do it and the approach they take, so good job, and the content was great, especially for a quick 30 minute session.

In this course, you will learn how to

1. Obtain results that are timely
2. Find exactly what you are looking for on the 1st page of the results
3. Find information from credible sources
4. Know what the locals know – research by country of origin
5. Compare multiple products or companies simultaneously
6. Discover real user reviews and opinions on products or companies
7. And so much more...

Here is the thing- most people think that to search you just need to type the right keywords into the search bar.  Well of course, keywords are important, but to really discover information, keywords are just not enough.  You will spend more and more time typing keywords into the search bar, and come up with nothing.

Consider:

“According to our research, only 1 in 4 web queries you do gets you a satisfactory answer. Furthermore, a small fraction of the queries you do– around 5 percent – actually take up almost half the time you spend on searching."
Jan Pedersen, Chief Scientist for Core Search, Microsoft The Huffington Post 9/22/2009

Only 1 in 4!  Think about it for a minute.  Does that surprise you?  Maybe you feel like your rate of finding is better than that-- but here is the issue-- you probably are only looking for the type of information that is easy to find.  People usually expect search to not work all the time, and are therefor settle on mediocre results and are not finding half of the information that can be found.

And that 5 percent number--that represents the tiny splinter that immobilizes your productivity.  Hours can be lost looking for that one tid-bit, that one request from your boss, or data for your project.  This 5 percent is all that time that you spend tossing more and more keywords into the search bar hoping for the best, but only getting 88,000 results of nothing.

So, what I have to share is not magic.  Its not some new user interface that will change in two weeks when Google updates, or some crazy apparatus that reads your computer for personal information to help guess what you are looking for.

And it may not work for you.

It depends, can you think?  Can you imagine what your end product should be?  Can you take skills learned in a class and apply them?  If you can't, stop now.

And quit any job that has thinking as a part of it.

If you need to do research as part of your job, if you are a salesperson that does not have a dedicated team of researchers that are speaking to you and providing you with the information that you need, then you need to know the effective, easy to use and simple to remember skills that once you have learned them will stick with you and be ready for you to use every day of the week.

My eLearning course is the ideal format for learning these skills.  You get to engage all of your senses for ensured comprehension.  You get to read, listen, watch the presentation, and practice the skills in an interactive lesson.  You'll get an overview of each skill, gain insight into why, when, and how to use it.  And best of all, it will stay with you.  And if for some reason you should forget a skill- no worries- you won't need to go fishing through a 200 page book.  Or call a friend to help you out.  The course was designed to be sympathetic to the needs of the sales person.  I want you to be able to spend your time doing the making calls and winning business.  I want you to be able to spend your time thinking.  A book simply doesn't help for that.  A course designed start to finish with the needs of the salesperson in mind- that comes with support tools and aids-- will more than exceed your expectations.
